Grants Pass has a way of surprising you—in the best kind of way. We spent a weekend soaking up the adventure, local charm, and laid-back Southern Oregon lifestyle, and it left us wanting more. From rafting Nugget Falls to sipping wine in the Applegate Valley and catching live music downtown, it was the perfect balance of thrill and chill. The highlight of the weekend had to be rafting the Rogue River , and more specifically, the adrenaline rush of taking on Nugget Falls . This Class III-IV rapid is just outside of town and brings some serious energy. We went with a local guide service that made the whole trip safe, fun, and filled with laughs (and plenty of splash). The Rogue is stunning—lined with forested banks, rocky outcrops, and that unmistakable fresh river air. It was the kind of adventure that makes you feel wide awake and completely present.
