Our trip to Page, Arizona felt like stepping into another planet — glowing red canyons, endless desert skies, and some of the most surreal landscapes we’ve ever seen. It was the perfect mix of adventure and awe, and honestly, every stop felt more unbelievable than the last.
Here’s how it all unfolded.
Night One: Stargazing in the Desert
We kicked off our trip under the stars with the Antelope Valley Canyon Ligai Si Anii Stargazing Night Tour, and it set the tone for everything that followed.
There’s something magical about the desert at night. Once the sun dipped below the horizon, the world went completely still. Far from city lights, the sky exploded with stars — more than we’d ever seen before. The Milky Way stretched overhead in a bright, hazy band, and our guide shared Navajo stories and constellations that made the experience feel even more meaningful.
It wasn’t just stargazing — it was perspective-shifting. Standing there in the quiet desert, looking up at a sky that felt infinite, reminded us how small (and lucky) we are.
Day Two: Iconic Views & High-Desert Adventure
We packed a lot into our second day — and somehow, each stop topped the one before it.
Upper Antelope Canyon
First up was the world-famous Upper Antelope Canyon.
Walking through the narrow sandstone corridors felt like entering a living sculpture. The light beams filtering down through the slot canyon created glowing ribbons of gold and orange along the canyon walls. Every turn revealed a new shape — flowing curves, smooth waves, and textures carved by centuries of wind and water.
It’s one of those places where photos don’t do it justice. You have to stand there, look up, and just take it in.
Horseshoe Bend
Next, we headed to Horseshoe Bend.
The short hike out is easy and absolutely worth it. When you reach the edge, the Colorado River curves in a perfect horseshoe 1,000 feet below. The contrast between the deep blue-green water and the towering red cliffs is unreal.
We stood there longer than we planned — partly because it’s breathtaking, partly because it’s hard to process that something so dramatic is just… there.
Shell Gas Station Cave
One of the most unexpected (and fun) stops of the day was the Shell Gas Station Cave.
Yes — it’s exactly what it sounds like. Right near a Shell gas station is a hidden sandstone cave formation that feels like a secret bonus attraction. It’s a quick stop, but climbing up and exploring the curves of the rock made it feel like we’d discovered something off the beaten path.
It’s quirky, unique, and totally worth the short detour.
Via Ferrata at Antelope Ridge Adventure Park
We wrapped up the day with a serious adrenaline rush at Antelope Ridge Adventure Park, tackling the Via Ferrata course.
Clipped into cables and climbing along iron rungs bolted into the rock face, we scaled the sandstone cliffs with sweeping desert views all around us. It was challenging enough to feel adventurous but safe enough to fully enjoy.
Reaching the top was such a satisfying moment — dusty, tired, and grinning from ear to ear.
